This is a postcard my grandfather sent to my father from Smolensk the 9.5.1942 with the field post. The text says:
My dear boy!
Today I'm sending you a picture of a big russian town. In the church there wasn't a church, but the russians had a museum in it. In front you can see how the houses are ruined by the war.
Give my love to mom.
Your daddy!
