This too is a plant imported to Europe, which likes to grow at humid bushes: The "Japanese Knotweed" (Reynoutria japonica Houtt. or Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb.etZucc.) originating in east asia. The picture shows the brown remains of a membraneous sheath at the base of the leaf. This "ochrea" is a typical characteristic of the knotweed family (Polygonaceae).
