The species of the genus Cratoneuron (link only in german) often grow in very wet places, preferably in flowing brooks. They deposit chalk beween there leaves and this way petrify. This can't be seen on the picture. But the sickle-shaped leaves can be seen. On the right there are some new sporophytes.
