The little man on the bridge
The actual city of Bonn on the left side of the Rhine and the district
Beuel on the right side are now connected by a steel bridge -the Kennedy
Bridge. The predecessor of the present bridge was a mighty stone bridge with
two archways, which was destroyed in the Second World War. When that bridge
was constructed, Beuel refused to make a financial contribution. Bonn
returned the favor setting a little man of stone into the bridge, who had his
pant at the ankles and stretched his bare bottom towards Beuel. This little
man now also decorates the new bridge.
